Ear Candy’s Tenth Anniversary

I find it interesting the challenge in the types of formats that record stores face (vinyl, CD, downloads) also mirrors the format challenges libraries face (print, digital… microforms?). Also the competition from big stores like Amazon factor in. Ear Candy fills a niche market in Missoula. Libraries fill a niche too.

Perhaps there are lessons we can learn from each other?

Plexifilm is showing the movie Finisterre free on streaming video this month (click on the link above to view). This is a nice little vid that has a soundtrack by the band St. Etienne. I like the style of the video and it takes you on tour around London. Good show.

Bebe Barron, 82; scored the science fiction film ‘Forbidden Planet’ – Los Angeles Times

Remember Robbie the Robot? Well the movie that made him famous was The Forbidden Plant and it had a really awesome soundtrack. Bebe Barron was the genius behind those sounds.
