Library Posters vs. Concert Posters
So these are some recent concerts I am interesting in attending…

Boise Experimental Music Festival 3
It is interesting to me that some of these posters are valued as art in themselves and even go so far as to have gallery shows for them like this. Among others out there on the web (* just do a search on google or whatever *)
This tugs at me to consider WHY library posters don’t receive the same consideration? Where are the art shows of library posters? Are library posters art? I have half-a-mind to remedy this situation and I just might. So stay tuned.

The thing I don’t understand is, why do concert posters have to be scary? A guy growing horns? A disembodied doll? I think we should rename “Totalfest” to “Creepfest”; meanwhile BEMF looks like Frankenstein goes sci-fi. Who does this stuff appeal to?

You are so right–libraries rock, don’t they? Of course they do! I have half a mind too, so I’ll join you so we can remedy this situation. We can even use antlers, somehow.

Kim, you make a good point that the posters need to appeal to the right audience but these posters do catch your attention, don’t they?

Memo, I got plans, oh have I got plans, I will get with you for an idea on how to remedy the situation. And yes, libraries need more antlers… the more libraries looks like Cabella’s the better.

what amazes me the most is after putting on shows for years and making great posters that in libraries people get frantic about a poster, and they’re just using word.
i want to see silkscreened library posters. done by people like jelle crama.

Right on Amy! Memo and I were talking about library posters at lunch today and it occurred to me that silk-screened posters would be pretty boss too. I am hatching up a scheme with Memo which I might have to include you in…!
